A Study in the Mathematics of Light

My name is Eric Seglem and I am an Honors College Fellow of 2020. I am a student of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and I am double majoring in Physics (Professional Concentration) and Mathematics (Applied Concentration). During the Spring of 2024, I defended my honors thesis in the study of quantum optics under Physics Professor Reeta Vyas. In the future, I plan to obtain a PhD in Physics with the intention of studying quantum information or mathematical physics.

My name is Jared Noel, and I just finished my sophomore year in the College of Engineering and the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences as an honors chemical engineering and applied mathematics double major. I have spent the past four semesters conducting research in Dr. Jin-Woo Kim’s Bio/Nano Technology Lab. In the Spring 2024 semester, I nearly concluded my project developing a novel nanomaterial for cardiovascular tissue engineering applications. In the future, I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in computational biology before pursuing a research career in the biopharmaceutical industry.
